Sunday Spending: Back At It
Title not in reference to grocery shopping. Oh no.
I spent the day mopping the floors with a vinegar solution, starting the preparations for next month’s garage sale, sprucing up The Chicken House, transplanting basil into outside beds, disassembling my indoor grow-op (at long last), and drinking poor man’s iced coffee.
Today though, I made do with drip coffee (brewed with espresso blend because we are sick like that), ice, a little raw milk, and a stainless steel straw. $0. In fact, the entire day was a goose egg on the spending front (at least for me) and was altogether quite enjoyable. I haven’t had one of those in far too long. After a false start or two, frugality resumed.
If I was holed up at home, someone had to do the shopping. Fortunately, The Husband was all to willing to take a break from work on predator proofing the chicken run to pick up the week’s supplies. It wasn’t too extensive.
Local Market: $74 Total. $51 today on chicken sausages, eggs, dog veggies, miscellaneous people veggies, chips, almonds, and sunflower seeds. Plus $23 yesterday to pick up odds and ends for grilling with friends.
As of last week, we were at $311 plus this weeks $74 is $385. We will be out of town this weekend. I haven’t quite adapted our grocery strategy accordingly, but we’ve plenty of wiggle room.
